NSW & ACT Properties

This page is a list of known properties in New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) that may not be acceptable to all lenders as security for a mortgage.

You may still be able to apply and get approved for a home loan or investment loan but you will need to do your research and apply with the right bank for that property.

How can you finance your property?

Our mortgage brokers are specially trained in financing properties that are a little outside of the box.

We can quickly work out which banks can accept that property as security and work out how much you can borrow.

Please enquire online or call us on 1300 889 743 to find out how we can help you.

How to find out the bank policy for your property

Look for the property that you are purchasing using the below list. The properties are grouped by suburb and are in alphabetical order.

For some properties we have included a link to a page with more information on how to finance that property type. In other cases you will need to call us to confirm how much we can help you to borrow.

We recommend that you call one of our mortgage brokers to obtain advice specific to you.

Please call us on 1300 889 734 or enquire online to discuss your situation with one of our expert brokers.

  • Joe P.

Why are banks more strict when it comes to high rise / inner city apartments?

  • Hey Joe,

Inner city apartments tend to fluctuate in price more often than other types of properties because of the change in supply and demand brought forth by the construction of new developments. Banks see financing these units as a high risk because of these price fluctuations so they are more strict on their lending policy.
