Why are Doctors Eligible for Special Discounts?

Australian lenders see doctors as low risk borrowers with high incomes. Some of our lenders really want your business and are willing to go the extra mile to get it!

The size of the interest rate discount will depend on:

  • Your particular medical profession.
  • Which industry association you are a member of.
  • Your income.
  • The size of your loan.

Borrow 100% of the property value with LMI waived!

Normally, if you borrow more than 80% of the property value then the lender will charge you a fee known as Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

This can be quite expensive and works out to be around $24,000 for a 90% loan on a $1,000,000 property.

What If I Don’t Qualify?

Some lenders have complex lending policies, pricing and restricted profession lists which make it hard for high-income professionals to get the discounts that they deserve.

We can usually help to get your LMI waived and a great rate based on your profession. But if you don’t qualify for waived LMI, we can often still get you an interest rate that’s way below the bank’s Standard Variable Rate (SVR).
