i am currently under a bridging visa A, am awaiting decision for permanent residency. Am i allowed to purchase a house & if so, take a home loan. what is the max % loan? would i still need FIRB approval for purchase of home?

Hi Cocos,
Yes you are allowed to purchase a home however if you have not been on a 457 visa or spouse visa then you will likely only be able to borrow 80% of the property value. I am unsure if FIRB approval would be required for your situation so please contact FIRB to find out.
You would not receive first home benefits unless you are a Permanent Resident of Australia.
