Hi, I requested a free credit report from Equifax and received my report but not my Equifax score.
Why doesn’t my report include a credit score?

Hello Yuri. Welcome to the forums.

A credit report and a credit score are not the same thing.

Your credit report contains information received by the credit reporting agencies about you. Your credit score is calculated by putting the information from your credit report into a credit score formula.
You may have multiple credit scores based upon who provided the score, i.e. Equifax, Experian etc. since the company providing the score may use their own scoring model.

The law gives you the right to ask for a copy of your credit report, however, the law does not require the credit reporting companies to provide a free credit score.

Give us a call on 1300 889 743 or fill in our free assessment form to find out if you qualify for a home loan.

Cheers,

That’s such bollocks. So, how do I get a copy of my Equifax score?

Hi Yuri,

You can order a copy by contacting Equifax. Check out their offers on their pricing page. Their Starter Pack starts at just under $80 and includes a full credit report and your Equifax score.

You’ll be able to see your Equifax Score/ Veda Score when you apply for a home loan with one of our mortgage brokers. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a copy of your Equifax score.

Cheers,

Thanks for the information. Since I’ve got you here, do you mind telling me what’s considered a good Equifax score?

Hi Yuri,

No problem. An Equifax Score is considered:
  • Excellent: If it’s above 700.
  • Good: If it’s between 600 and 700.
  • Average: 550 is the average score.
  • Bad: If it’s between 400 and 500.
  • Very bad: If it’s below 400.

Cheers,
