Oh okay sounds simple enough. Let me give you a call in a few days to find out what my chances are to have my loan approved with a discount.

Re: Can a lawyer get a home loan discount?
Hi there, like gleeson, I too am a legal professional. I am the legal advisor for a multinational company. I am planning to buy a house worth $550,000 and I wanted to know more about the waived LMI part. Is there a limit to how much I can borrow if I want to have my LMI waived?

Re: Any loan discount available for vets?
Hey, I came across this forum post since I am also a part of the medical profession and I was searching for loan info over the internet. I am an optometrist and I have been checking people’s eye for the last ten years
Jokes apart, I’m thinking of opening up my own clinic and I would need to borrow money to buy some medical equipment. Is there a possibility of getting a loan discount on this?

Okay, I will search through my cabinet and see what papers I have with me. I will call you after a few days once I have the paperwork in order.

Re: How much would I be able to borrow?
I do have a couple of credit cards that I barely use and I would not have known about this if you hadn’t shared this info with. Thanks for this. I will contact you in a few days after I sort out the situation with the credit cards. Ciao!

Re: How much would I be able to borrow?
Okay, so I tried out the calculator and it looks like I can borrow up to $500,000. If I cancel my credit card then will this increase the amount I can borrow?

How much would I be able to borrow?
Hi there brokers, I am thinking about buying a house worth $540,000 and I need to apply for a home loan to complete the purchase. I am not sure how much would the bank be willing to offer me to complete the purchase. How much can a person normally borrow to buy a house?
FYI – I earn approximately $45,000 a year as an editor of a travel based magazine.

Re: How do I get a loan if I’m self-employed?
I have heard that normal loans usually carry high insurance expenses. Just wondering, is it the same for no doc loans?

Re: How do I get a loan if I’m self-employed?
Hi, I am also looking for a similar loan to open my new flower shop. I am curious about the interest rates. Is it a lot higher than other normal loans?

A sport player looking for a home loan
Hi, I am a national football player and I need a home loan to buy a house worth $560,000. I have a hunch that it is going to be difficult to have my loan approved because of my profession. Is it difficult for a sports player to get home loan?

Rent as genuine savings possible for home loan?
Hi experts, is it possible to use my rent as proof of genuine savings for my home loan? I had heard that you could do this from a friend but I wanted to confirm with a professional mortgage broker.
FYI I have been living in a rented unit for 1 year and 8 months and I pay $300 per week. It’s a nice place but I think I first moved here when I was not sure about my income and my job. Now that I am in a better position at my workplace I want to buy own my unit now. I was planning to wait longer and save up more before I applied but then I found about the rent thing.
Please let me know what you think about all of this.
Thanks!

Re: How long do credit enquiries stay on file?
Hey this might be a silly question but I was just wondering what kind of information is recorded along with your credit enquiry.
I also tried out the calculator you mentioned above and it says that I have a low credit score. Is there anything I can do to improve my score?

Re: Can I get tax benefits with Australian properties?
Otto, I would also like to buy a house here.
What are the exact restrictions for someone who is working in Australia but does not have an Australian spouse?
Just to let you know, I have been working in Australia for more than 4 years now for an MNC. They set me up in an apartment in the beginning but I think that I might settle down here for good.
Thanks
Thomas
