Re: Does anybody know the costs of buying a home?
Hello forums,
I live in Ivanhoe and am looking to get a home loan to buy my first house. I’ve heard that some of the states offer grants for new home buyers. I think it was called FHOG. I was wondering if I was eligible for one of these grant. Can somebody please explain to me what FHOG means?

Re: Can I borrow 90% for a house?
Hi everyone,
I am also thinking about borrowing 90% for a house. I am, however, unsure of the amount I need to pay for LMI. Could someone give me an idea on this?

Re: I got bad credit. Can I get a loan?
I didn’t know that these small utilities might affect my home loan application. Thank you for clarifying that to me. Now I will be more prudent and pay much attention to my credit history when I apply for a loan. If I have any doubts, then I will definitely ring you guys up.
Cheers!

I recently changed my cable TV provider and my internet service company. Does this create new enquiries on my file and should I be worried?

Re: Does a Singaporean need FIRB approval?
Hi Otto,
Thank you for the reply. So how long does it take to obtain an approval from the Foreign Investment Review Board? Will my application for FIRB approval be approved or not?

Does a Singaporean need FIRB approval?
Hi everyone!
My father is ongoing medical treatment in Australia, and I am here with him. It seems that we will be here for the foreseeable future. We have been renting an apartment in Sydney and keeping on paying rent is looking like an unwise choice. We have been paying AUD 400 per week in rent, and it seems that we may be able to get a mortgage by paying slightly more than that.
I am originally from Singapore, and one of my friends over there had bought a property some time ago in Australia. He had mentioned something about getting an FIRB approval from the Australian government before buying a property. Since I am living in Australia at the moment, do I also require the approval? If I do, could someone elaborate a more about the approval?
Thanks in advance!

Re: How much can I borrow to buy a hotel unit?
I don’t think I have a problem with anything as long as I can borrow at least 85% of the property value. I’ll give you a call to discuss my situation and loan needs after I decide what to go for. Thanks for your help.

Re: How much can I borrow to buy a hotel unit?
A friend of mine suggested me to consider purchasing an inner city apartment instead of investing in a hotel unit. He explained the benefits of it to me and I’ve come to agree much of what he said. How much will I be able to borrow if I want to buy an inner city unit?
