52-year-old looking for a home loan

I stumbled upon your business by chance but I was wondering if you could help me out. I’m a 52-year-old carpenter from Greenbank and I’m looking to purchase a house worth $650,000 in Altona, Victoria. I’ve been hearing from my friends that banks here in Australia tend to have strict home loan policies for old folks like myself. Is this true? If so, is there any way around it? I’d like to know.
