Getting a guarantor loan seems like a good option if I am able to avoid paying LMI premium. I will discuss it with my wife and her parents and contact you again.
Thanks.

Re: Can I get a mortgage in Australia if my wife is Australi
Hi there,
I am a businessman from the US. I have been living with my wife, who is an Australian citizen, for the last 10 years. I have been investing in real estate in many countries and want to buy a property in Sydney valued slightly above $1,000,000.
But when I approached an Australian bank for a loan on the capacity of someone on a permanent spouse visa, I was told that I would need to pay more than $42,000 for LMI premium. To be frank, I find that to be ridiculous and I am thinking of investing somewhere else.
I want to know if there are any ways through which I can avoid paying LMI on the loan.

Thanks Otto. I’ll be sure to consider all this and, hopefully, come up with the perfect loan type for me. I’ll give you a call by Wednesday to discuss this in detail. Bye.

Re: Why is it hard for a casual worker to get a home loan?
Hi all, I’m also a casual worker and I’ve been thinking of getting a home loan to buy a small apartment in Waroona, WA. I heard somewhere that all major types of loans are available for a casual employment home loan. I’m not sure which loan type would be the best option for me. Can anyone help me with this?

Re: Any tips on how to save a deposit?
Hi, I’ve been saving for more than a year to help me on my home loan application. I’m planning on taking out a home loan within the next couple of months. I’ve heard from friends that banks sometimes don’t give out home loans because of the way the borrower manages his money. Is this true?

Re: When is property valuation not necessary?
Hello everyone. I can’t get a normal full doc loan because I can’t prove my income. I’m planning on getting a low doc loan but I’ve read that I may only be able to borrow up to 80% of the property value. Is there any way that I can borrow more than 80% of the property value with a low doc loan?

Thank you for the reply, Otto. Although I may not be able to provide my statements, I can provide a letter from my accountant. Could you tell me what need to be included in the letter?

Can I get a low doc loan for building a house?
Hello everyone!
I am a marketing analyst for a supermarket chain. I am currently based in Sydney and I want to buy a piece of land in my hometown of Perth and build a house there.
My work is not conventional, I am paid according to projects and I do not have conventional payslips. I also do not have any tax returns. My friends were telling me that I may have to apply for a low doc loan, but they were not sure if I can get such a loan for construction.
So could anyone in this forum give me some information on whether I can get a loan to build my own house?

Re: How much LMI will I need to pay on my home loan?
Hi guys, like oldisGOLD, I too am a lawyer. I will need to borrow $495,000 to buy a house worth $560,000. As you can see, I need to borrow less than 90% and may not need to pay LMI anyway. But I would like to get a discount on the interest rate. So could you tell me how much interest rate discount could I possibly receive on the loan?

Re: How can I be eligible for FHOG?
Hi there, like Don Juan, I am also a first home buyer. I am about to apply for a home loan and I was wondering if I could get any loan discount as a first home buyer? Also, is there any way to know how much grant could I possibly receive from the government?
