Hello everyone!
I want to get a mortgage in Australia. How does a foreigner prove his income while applying for a mortgage with an Australian bank?

Hello brokers, I too am an optometrist and I was going through this forum thread. Actually I want to know a bit about LMI. I’m not really sure what this means. Can you tell me a bit about this please?

Getting a discount on the interest rate would help a great deal even if I ended up paying the LMI. Well, I will call you guys and discuss about my application in more detail. Thanks for your answer! Bye and speak to you soon.

Do I need to meet additional criteria to be approved for a loan and receive the above discounts?

Do accountants get loan discounts like other professionals?
Hello!
I am planning on buying a house worth $550,000 and I need to borrow around $500,000 to complete the purchase. Although I do have a bit of savings, it’s won’t be enough and so I cannot afford to borrow less than $500k. Does this mean I would end up paying high LMI fee? I am an accountant and I have heard that applicants who are of a certain profession are eligible for loan discounts. Would this include accountants as well?
FYI – I work for a legal firm as an accountant and I make about $65,000 a year.

Re: Reasons why my loan can get declined
I am glad that my friend recommended this forum to me. I am positive that if you will help me find a suitable lender, then I will be living in my own house in a few months. I will give you a call within a few days to get started on the application process.

Re: Reasons why my loan can get declined
Thank you for such a detailed explanation. I am just 20 and earning well. I have also been making my personal loan repayments on time. I am starting to feel confident that my home loan application will be approved. Is there any way that I can make sure that a lender does not reject my loan?

Re: How can we increase our borrowing capacity?
Hi Otto,
We’d forgotten to mention that we are planning on investing in the house as joint owners. We’re glad that this will help us increase our borrowing capacity. Can you now tell us how the banks will assess our loan application for joint ownership of an investment property?

Reasons why my loan can get declined
Hey there,
I work as a firefighter in Salem and earn $53,000 annually. I have saved up quite a bit for the past two years. I believe that I will be ready to buy a home within a month or two but I am worried that my loan will be rejected by the banks. I am worried because I have some friends who have had their loan applications rejected.
I want to get a professional opinion on the actual reasons why a lender may reject a loan. Can anyone in this forum help me out with this?

How can we increase our borrowing capacity?
Hi,
My wife and I have been planning on investing in a house located in Normanton. We have sufficient savings but we still need to take out an investment loan. Our joint yearly income sums up to around $120,000 and we know that we can afford the loan.
We want to borrow as much as we can. Is there anyone who can tell us how we can increase our borrowing power?

Re: What fees should I pay for while buying a house?
Well, that’s a good news. I have been meaning to borrow no more than 80 to 85%. Will figure out how much I really need to borrow and check the LMI calculator as well just in case. I’ll give you a call in a few days after that. By the way, thanks for your help.
