Incomplete home without Certificate of Occupancy

Any general questions you might have in regards to loans and finance.

I have just seen a home on the market that are 85% complete. People are already living in it, but it has not been finished yet. Plastering and balconies needs to be finished, but it looks like the couple separated and needs to get rid of the property.

It is on the market for a good price, I am wondering will the bank give me a loan to buy such a property?

Yes there is a good possibility that you could get finance on such a property however will depend on the loan to valuation and overall deal. We work very closely with both mortgage insurers and you wont get either of them to provide cover so will need to be less than 80%.

in saying this of course i would make sure you have cash funds to complete the outstanding work. Other potential issue is whether the property could be insured. That question is probably best aimed at a good insurance broker.

Cheers
