Hi everyone,

I'm keeping my eyes on the Inner West Sydney market and every once in a while I carefully go over periodicals like the Inner West Courier to see what's popping up in the area. I'm seeing some very impressive marvels of design in areas like Top Ryde and Rhodes. Rhodes is a suburb I've never really been to as I was concentrating mainly on areas around Newtown. Newtown incidentally has the sharpest increase in rents this year along with Edgecliff. I'm thinking it would have been excellent to buy in Newtown a few years back.

Some of my notes from the properties listed are as follows:

The apartments by Crowngroup in Rhodes. No Stamp Duty (during February...???) and 6% rental guarantee. Now, capital gain may not be much as they are units. But the design looks darn impressive.

Also there's a project by Crowngroup in Top Ryde, 1,2, & 3 bedroom apartments from $465K. Again the design is outstanding.

There are apartments in Little Bay Beach from $480K. Little Bay is not a well known beach but to me it looks better than Bondi and may take off in the years to come.

Rhodes has also received special notice from Inner West Courier as an up and coming neighbourhood.

Does anyone have experience in buying from Little bay Beach, Top Ryde or Rhodes?

Look forward to hearing from the other investors on the forum.

Regards,

Edwina

Inner west is great no doubt about it- If you can get your hands on some land in that area then don't let go!

I haven't lived in Rhodes myself but used to frequent the area and from the look of things the area is very clean and new. I'm fairly sure you can pick up something for a bit cheaper than Newtown.

A lot of newer apartments have been built in recent years, many which have a view of Parramatta river and which are close to Rhodes Shopping Centre.

Rhodes is booming! Especially for young families! It's very landscaped which means there are plenty of paths to go walking on and the area is quite manicured.

Rhodes has a friendly suburb feel with all the convenience of living a hop, skip and a jump away from the city!

Hope this helps!
