Australian Military posted overseas, how to buy a home?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the armed forces and am living overseas in Solomon islands and I've saved enough cash to consider buying a home in Australia.

I will not be returning back home for another 18 months but would like to start my home loan application.

I have 20% of the house value saved up. I'm basing my calculations on the median price of houses in Melbourne.

Are there any military personnel out there who've purchased a home from overseas? Is it difficult to do?

Being an overseas military personnel you have a great advantage when it comes to buying a home! Military personnel get very attractive benefits when they serve overseas. You should definitely enquire with a mortgage broker to proceed with your loan.
